Description

Retirement Opportunity.

I'm seeking at least three partners from a close-nit family where a parent is recently retired and in daily contact with the children. This is a retirement re-location and business opportunity. The model is a classic separation of roles where I provide all the capital and you provide all the labour.

I plan to buy a seaside 8-10 bedroom hotel with my savings and sale of my property. Occupation will be half retirement residents and half seasonal visitors. I will be one of the former. I invite a family to join me there. I need two healthy worker-managers to run the hotel and one or more retirees.

I have private income and don't need to take any from the business. The managers will be allotted a salary as mutually agreed by all business members, probably performance-related. All excess proceeds can be re-invested in the hotel.

The managers will also be responsible for the care and well-being of the permanent residents, for life or until they need to go into a specialised establishment. So for my protection the other residents must hope to out-living me, say another 2-3 decades of life-expectation. End-of-life care must be a topic that the family, being on close terms between the generations, have already broached : a pipe-dream with no chance of funding. The younger generation must not be narrowly career-focused and might even be glad to leave employment and go it alone. And equally glad to re-join their parents socially.

This arrangement will extend beyond my life until all the older generation are deceased or departed, after which the property will revert to my estate. Although I don't currently have a plan for its final beneficiaries.

I find that a well-run hotel can generate a good income and I will leave you to research that yourself. They are mostly run by husband-and-wife teams who live in separate accommodation away from the guest rooms. I am looking to re-locate to a popular area in Devon, Somerset, South Wales, maybe elsewhere. There is no rush from my side, this business may take many months to set up, years maybe.

The managers should already have, or be willing to learn, hospitality skills and be competent cooks. I expect a full-board, drinks-licenced establishment with feast-day parties organised several times a year. They will have to learn hygiene, health and safety rules and take responsibility for compliance. They will be live-in, on-call staff for 48 weeks a year and arrange agency-cover for their holidays, sickness and other leave needs. Some jobs such as laundry and deep-cleaning might be out-sourced but I expect the bulk of the work to be kept in-house, so slightly compulsive tidyness and cleanliness would be an advantage in my selection of partners. We must also all get along socially, of course.

This advertisment is aimed at someone nearly or just retired, or contemplating early retirement. It's up to you to recruit your children into giving up the day-job, re-locating, living at home again and running their own business. If any of you already have property you would need to sell, this business doesn't need your cash. Use it to buy a house near the hotel for the Grand-children or other young relatives.

Please reply through web-site. I don't use telephones much now, too distracting.
