Description
Hi Mate, A little bit about me. I have a PhD in Acoustics and spent many years in the Entertainment Industry as a Technical Director for theatres and festivals in the UK and more excitedly International with people from Ed Sheeren, Madness, Tom Jones to Dolly Parton working very close with there production teams. Over the years I built up several different licences some not relevant. As you are fully aware COVID has in simple terms fucked over the music industry so I needed to think fast and use my skill set creatively in a different area. Home Automation was the obvious answer for me as I truely love it from following it for years. I love electrics and construction and highly trained in the areas from First Aid to learning how to climb a ladder (8 hour course of torture) ????. From a young age I was brought up around Electronics and Construction Companies by my Dad and Grandad. They taught me anything from low voltage to full rewire.
When I talk about Home Automation and Audio I’m not interested in anything cheap and tacky like Alexa or Samsung I’m talking about big network z wave technology the biggest and most expensive examples would be Control 4 Bower and Wilkins Naim amps etc... So yes I am looking for a business partner to help launch the company and give as much input as possible. There still the website to complete (nearly done www.smartsavvyhomes.com) and the biggest step what do we want to market and install. Different systems have different target markets.
I’m a really chilled out down to earth guy you can ask anybody that as well as several references I’ve been wrote over the years. Pretty much want to split everything straight down the middle 50/50 and any input is great. Ideally I would like to get a medium sized office and kit it out with shit loads of Automation and Audio to show of to clients and sell jobs so that is really the only start up cost along side a marketing strategy, uniforms, tools, vehicle. I’ve been doing marketing for years.
I should also mention that I’m happy to incorporate general electrical work into the company as well again with the reason behind it if I have a customer wanting to have full rewrire of there house. It would make more sence and benefit them to include smart fittings etc...
Here is the concept that I came up with overall.
The property management industry is years behind considering the available technology out there. They have not implemented much in terms of smart technology to make both their lives and their tenant’s life easier. If you have a passion for smart technology or information technology and infrastructure, this could be the perfect idea to consider. To begin, you will want to set up a basic inventory of the components you’ll need to convert a basic tenants house into a smart home. For instance, this may involve gathering components and programming instructions so lights automatically turn on when someone uses the front door at specific times, or it may be an alert system for when people are away from the home and the property manager needs to know about a burst pipe. All these scenarios could be programmed using components that make up a smart home. Once you have that, you can approach property managers and work with them on an on-going basis to set up systems that allow them to know if there are emergencies that need taken care of, if lawns need to be cut, etc.
Things I want to install are such as lighting, heating, cctv, surround sound, multi room audio, locks, doors, wireless charging, automated blinds ect... the list goes on.
The biggest selling point here tho is my customer support monthly subscription. A subscription service is the best way to make real money. The idea of this is to provide the customer ongoing support after the install but also customers that already have an install that they want maintaining.
